Discord is an instant messaging platform with a lot of weight to its name. Among its highlight features, the existence of Rich Presence statuses is especially noteworthy, as the functionality works to let your friends know what you’re up to at the moment.

Setting a custom Rich Presence is a little more difficult than it needs to be, however. Using a third-party tool to do so is thus recommended: Custom Rich Presence will let you customize your status to your heart’s content, enabling you to add images, links, and structure it however you want.

You’ll have to take a few extra steps to get everything to work. Head to the Discord Developer Portal, add a new application, then copy the ID onto the program’s interface. Select them from the program’s interface, click Update, and your Custom Rich Presence should look the way you intended.

Text can be entered in the Details and State fields. As for what will appear on your Discord status, Details is the first field, while State is the second: the former has a slightly bigger font, so keep that in mind.

You can also set a custom timestamp, so feel free to do whatever you want there. A link can additionally be added, and it will appear at the bottom of your status.

For added convenience, I found the program’s ability to start minimized upon startup to be valuable if you want your new Rich Presence to always show: make sure to toggle those functions via Settings, though.
