It would have been nice to be able to modify the recording codec, however, as this would give users more options to fine-tune their recording.

You can record your gameplays through this tool, which is made possible by the fact that it records your entire screen. The lack of an option letting you choose what window to record, or designating a region to record in, is a bit of a missed opportunity, but it's possible that such features will be implemented in a later release.

In addition, it's worth nothing that the tool does consume some amount of system resources during the recording process, which, depending on your hardware, may affect your gaming performance.
