Bitmap2Material is a comprehensive application that enables you to generate textures and patterns then apply them on 3D meshes. The program allows you to generate and adjust these graphic files, as well as export them to your computer. You can create seamless tiling materials from bitmap images.

Bitmap2Material allows you to transform the photo of a metal structure into a 3D representation that you can later use in game or animation design. It is a suitable solution for generating tiling materials and Physically-Based Rendering objects (PBR) with little effort.

The program supports generating several PBR results starting from one image, by creating several maps based on color, luminosity and shapes. An image is automatically separated into several channels including base color, normal representation, metallic, roughness and ambient occlusion. Each of these attributes can be individually adjusted from the menu on the left side.

Bitmap2Material features a flexible interface meaning that you can move the three work areas according to your preferences. They can be detached from the main window, resized or split in several segments.

The program allows you to load a large variety of images for mapping, which embed Substance metadata. Otherwise, you may use the preset files and customize it with local pictures’ layout. The Parameters menu enables you to adjust global effects, relief levels, base color, roughness / glossiness maps, metallic, ambient occlusion and grunge modes.

Each pattern, or Substance, can be exported to a local folder, then used with other applications, in games or animation design.
